A six-week seminar on imagination as a world-making force. As institutions falter and machine systems absorb routine work, the visionary traditions — magic, prophecy, artistic practice — stop looking decorative and start looking like survival skills.
The seminar begins from a question modern societies expected to have retired: why do symbols move people more deeply than facts? Politics was supposed to become a matter of expertise and rational administration. Instead myth, charisma and spectacle have returned as central political forces, accelerated rather than dissolved by new technology.
Readings and sessions draw on William Blake, Henry Corbin’s Imaginal, Rimbaud’s derangement of the senses, and the daimonic tradition. Alongside the reading, participants work through practices designed to interrupt habit and recover creative agency, and each develops a project of their own across the six weeks.
