Four online seminars, beginning 5 September 2021, on the question of what happens to consciousness at death — a subject worth reconsidering even for hardened sceptics.
The first week sets out the ground: scientific materialism descends from a Newtonian-Cartesian picture in which an independent physical world exists and consciousness appears late, as an accidental by-product of biological complexity. Quantum experiment has made that picture difficult to hold. A definable world appears to come into being when an observer observes it.
From there the course works through the traditions and the evidence — esoteric, shamanic and scientific — for a continuum of consciousness that does not end at physical death, and what accepting such a picture would do to the values of a civilisation. Includes a free ebook.
